Village At Sugar Creek (VASC) is a Limited Liability Company, LLC, based in Lima, Ohio, that was organized by local businessmen and women to provide a new lifestyle in a golf community setting.
VASC hired master landscape architect, James Bassett, James A. Bassett & Associates to design a community based upon an ecological commitment to bring beauty and elegance to farmland without disturbing the topography of the land.
There was no great movement of the dirt during construction of the golf course and all run-off water was to be maintained on site and not discharged into Sugar Creek or it's tributary. Wherever possible on the golf course there was an effort to build wetlands for the wild life and plant life. Every lot was planned in this environmental spirit.
Bassett and Associates are the developers of the Muirfield Village that surrounds the great Jack Nicklaus golf course, Muirfield. They are also the designers of zoos, great corporate centers, and downtowns of cities across America. The care of the land is the prerequisite of Jim Bassett.
